An escaped prisoner broke free from custody after being arrested on murder charges earlier on Wednesday, according to a D.C. police spokesperson. Several blocks in the area are closed for the manhunt, causing rush hour traffic to become gridlocked. People are advised to stay away from the area. The police have identified the man as 31-year-old Christopher Haynes. If anyone encounters Haynes, they should call 911 and avoid engaging with him, as he is reportedly dangerous.
